BW Training December 17/18
Hello BW Families!
Great skiing at Alpental last weekend- although we could really use some snow! This weekend we'll continue to build on the fundamentals of stance, balance and edging and we'll add pole planting. The BW team will keep working on these movements through free-skiing and drills until Holiday Camp (December 27-31). Please meet at Alpental- out in front of the base lodge at 8:45am- again, closer to the cat-track road to stay out of the way of the Alpental BW program. The schedule will remain the same- lunch from 11:30-12:30 and back to the lodge by 3pm.
BW Meet and Greet:
Hello BW families!
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Wondering about the other parents of the kids your TAS kids are skiing with? We’ve been there! We remember what it’s like to send the kids off to the hill, see other parents milling around at the end of training, and not know who anyone is!
Let’s get together for an informal meet-and-greet / social hour this Saturday, at Alpental in the 2nd Lodge, 1st Floor (under the bar) from 2-3 before the kids training ends.
Typically families get to know each other a lot more at the races, and the first one for the BW program is the Apple Cup next month in Wenatchee. We don’t want to wait that long – so please join us in the lodge to say hi and get to know each other for an hour or so before the kids finish training.
We look forward to meeting the new families and saying hi to some familiar faces! Any questions, please ask!
- From your TAS Board members who are also BW parents:
Dianne Wright- mother of Otto and Ian
Jeff Day - father of Ollie (BW), Bridget & Isabel (Devo)
BJ Moore – father of Emma & Aili
Sara Ireton – mother of Emma (BW) & Christopher (Junior)
Nutrition:
I will continue to send reminders on the importance of good nutrition- fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and whole grains will greatly improve athletes physical and mental capabilities. Please- no soda, fried foods and candy. Nutrition makes an enormous difference! Please refer to the nutritional information on the TAS website (here) for information- this handout has specific foods listed for breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners.
Van Information:
Online Registration (here)- just chose the specific training day. This weekend we will only have a van available for BW training on Saturday.
The vans meet at the Eastgate Park-n-Ride at the SW corner at 7:30am- the vans leave promptly so please be on time.
Go fast- Have fun.
