Extension Program (March 17- April 14)
(UPDATE 2/20) ALL 20 SPOTS RESERVED. Please join the waiting list in case a spot opens up.
Team Alpental Snoqualmie (TAS) provides alpine ski racing programs for athletes 7-18 years old. Programs include the Development Team (introduction to racing), Buddy Werner Team (7-12 years old), and Junior Team (13-18 years old).
The Extension Program offers a chance for athletes 8-12 yrs old to experience ski racing and training with our high-level coaching. This program allows an athlete to “try out” the TAS Buddy Werner team and decide if they would like to return next year. The schedule consists of six training days. Enrollment is limited to 20 athletes.
ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Athletes must be skiing intermediate terrain with linked, parallel turns. They must be able to load the chairlift without an adult. They must be able to listen and follow directions from an adult; for example, “ski from the top of the lift to the training course” and be mature enough to separate from parents without anxiety. This is not a ski school and the focus is on racing fundamentals (technique and tactics).
WEDGING IS NOT ALLOWED. Athletes without the ability to ski with linked, parallel turns will be asked to return next season.
Helmets are required for all athletes.
Program Dates:
March 17-18, 24-25, 31-April 1, and the Dual Slalom on April 14.
